Marni R. Slavick
Marni R. Slavick graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2001, after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1998. While at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law Ms. Slavick was selected to compete as a National Moot Court Team finalist.
Since being admitted to practice in Illinois and in the Northern District of Illinois, Ms. Slavick has practiced in all areas of civil litigation with a specific focus on medical malpractice defense. In addition to handling all forms of medical litigation defense Ms. Slavick also represents physicians and nurses in disciplinary matters pending before the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
Ms. Slavick has focused her legal career in the area of medical malpractice defense, specifically the defense of physicians, multi-specialty practice groups and hospitals. Ms. Slavick has successfully defended physicians and hospitals in Cook County, DuPage County and Lake County Illinois. Ms. Slavick has obtained favorable defense verdicts in cases involving medical negligence, general liability and premises liability.
In 2013 Ms. Slavick was named to the Law Bulletin Publishing Company’s 40 Under Forty Attorneys to Watch and has been consistently recognized as a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyer. Click here to view the article.
In 2010 Ms. Slavick authored an article for the American Academy of Pediatrics regarding how a physician can effectively use documentation as part of their defense to a medical malpractice claim titled: Effective Documentation: The First Line of Defense. Since 2005 Ms. Slavick has lectured before legal and medical organizations on the topics of trial advocacy, hospital risk management, electronic medical records, proper medical documentation, effective medical communication and general principles of medical malpractice law.
