Anthony M. Sam is a Partner at Cunningham, Meyer & Vedrine where he focuses his practice on insurance defense in the areas of medical malpractice, complex personal injury, healthcare, insurance coverage and transportation. Tony has successfully defended dentists, physicians, nurses, and hospitals in medical malpractice cases involving a wide range of injuries and specialties, including primary care, emergency care, general and orthopedic surgery, and psychiatry. He regularly analyzes insurance coverage issues and third party claims. In addition, Tony handles aviation, trucking and other transportation matters. Tony has secured favorable outcomes for his clients in a number of trials, arbitrations and settlement conferences. Tony was selected by the Law Bulletin Media/Chicago Lawyer to its 2023 class of 40 Under Forty Illinois Attorneys to Watch.
During law school, Tony was a two-time National Champion in the National Animal Law Closing Argument Competition at Harvard Law School, and a National Finalist for National Moot Court Competition sponsored by the New York City Bar Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers. He also served as a law clerk at Commonwealth Edison and interned at the United States Attorney’s Office.
